Smoothie bowl

This colourful breakfast tastes as good as it looks!

Serves: 1 

Prep time: 10 mins

Ingredients: 

  • 1 banana 

  • 2/3 cup reduced fat milk or low fat yoghurt 

  • 1/2 cup frozen berries 

  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves 

  • 4 ice-cubes 

  • 1/2 cup wholegrains (e.g. rolled oats, chia seeds or muesli) 

  • 1/2 cup fresh fruit of your choice (to garnish) 

  • 1 tbsp shaved coconut (to garnish) 

  • 2 tbsp unsalted mixed nuts (to garnish) 

Method: 

  1. Place banana, milk/yoghurt, frozen berries, baby spinach, wholegrains and ice-cubes into a blender. Blend until smooth. 
  2. Pour smoothie into a serving bowl. 

  3. Garnish with chopped, fresh fruit, shaved coconut and nuts as you desire.
